South West MEP calls for more action on stalkers

South West Euro-MP Graham Watson has signed a written declaration to combat stalking.
The written declaration requires the signatures of 369 MEPs before December 20th in order for it to be successful and it is believed that Watson is currently the only South West member to have signed the statement.
The anti stalking campaign has been led by former ITV Westcountry newsreader Alexis Bowater, chief executive of the Network for Surviving Stalking (NSS) and a former victim.
Following the signing, Graham commented 'I can only imagine the terror and horror a victim of stalking must go through. This is an appalling crime that has now been brought to a continental level and I hope this will encourage my fellow MEPs to sign the declaration before its deadline on Monday.'
